1. Data Accuracy and Reliability

• No Absolute Accuracy Guarantee: While GetCoordinates.Online strives to provide accurate coordinate identification, we do not guarantee the absolute accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the data presented. Coordinates are derived from various geodata sources, including OpenStreetMap, which may contain errors, omissions, or variations.
• Not for Critical Use: This application is not intended for use in critical applications where precise and verified data is essential, such as professional surveying, precise navigation, legal boundaries, emergency services, or any scenario where inaccuracies could lead to harm or significant loss.
• Dependence on External Sources: The accuracy, availability, and presentation of maps and geodata are dependent on external sources (e.g., OpenStreetMap). GetCoordinates.Online is not responsible for any interruptions, inaccuracies, or errors originating from these third-party data providers.
• Address Search Results: The address search feature is powered by a third-party geocoding service (Nominatim, provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation). Search results may be ambiguous, incomplete, outdated, or incorrect (for example, multiple unrelated places sharing the same name). You are responsible for verifying that a selected result corresponds to the location you intend before relying on it.

2. User Responsibility

• Use at Your Own Risk: Your use of GetCoordinates.Online is solely at your own risk. You assume full responsibility for any reliance placed on the information obtained through the application.
• Verification of Data: Users are strongly advised to independently verify any coordinate data obtained from GetCoordinates.Online using alternative, certified methods or sources, especially when accuracy is paramount.
• Compliance with Laws: You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the application and any data obtained therefrom complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations related to geographical data, privacy, and marking points.

3. Data Persistence (Browser Memory)

• No Persistent Storage of Map Data: GetCoordinates.Online does not save or persist any coordinates, markers, or search history. Everything you see on the map — the click marker, a search result preview, your current location — exists only in that browser tab and disappears on reload or navigation.
• Interface Preferences: The application stores a small number of interface preferences in your browser's localStorage: which side the toolbar is docked on, whether the legacy-data notice below has already been shown once, and which announcements you have dismissed. These are functional settings only — no identifiers, no profiling, no analytics, nothing personal, and nothing that leaves your browser. Clearing your browser data resets them with no other consequence.
• Legacy Data Notice: If this browser previously stored markers using an older version of the application, GetCoordinates.Online offers to download that data as GeoJSON or KML. The notice appears on its own once; afterwards a download button remains in the toolbar for as long as that data is present, so it can be retrieved at any time. The data stays in your browser's IndexedDB until you clear your browser data — this application only reads it, never transmits it, and cannot delete it.
• Announcements: The application may show a small banner with news about, and links to, other NFO Systems services. Those messages are read from a static file served with the application itself; displaying one sends nothing anywhere and involves no tracking. Dismissing a message is remembered locally, as described above.
• Data Privacy: Nothing you do in the application is transmitted to or stored on GetCoordinates.Online servers — there are none. All processing happens locally in your browser.
• Address Search Queries: GetCoordinates.Online has no backend server. When you use the address search feature, the text you enter is sent directly from your browser to the third-party geocoding service (Nominatim) described in Section 4 — it does not pass through or get stored by GetCoordinates.Online. That transmission is subject to Nominatim's/OpenStreetMap Foundation's own privacy practices, not ours.
• Sharing Coordinates: The share button uses your device's/browser's native share function (Web Share API) to hand off the displayed coordinates and a link to whichever app or contact you choose — that handoff happens entirely on your device through the operating system's own share sheet, not through GetCoordinates.Online servers.

4. Intellectual Property and Use of Materials

• OpenLayers and OpenStreetMap: GetCoordinates.Online utilizes the OpenLayers library for map visualization and relies on OpenStreetMap for geodata. We acknowledge and respect their respective licenses and terms of use. For more information, please refer to the OpenLayers Code License and the OpenStreetMap Copyright and License (ODbL).
• Nominatim (Address Search): The address search feature uses Nominatim, a free geocoding service operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. Use of this feature is subject to Nominatim's usage policy. GetCoordinates.Online is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or performance of this third-party service.
• No Endorsement Implied: The use of these third-party technologies and data sources does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or partnership with GetCoordinates.Online.
• Links to Related Services: The opposite disclosure applies to the links this application shows to Capto, Geospatial Directory and Cartografica: those are operated by NFO Systems, the same company behind GetCoordinates.Online. They are separate services, with their own terms, and this disclaimer does not cover them.

5. General Limitation of Liability

• "As Is" and "As Available": GetCoordinates.Online is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
• Service Availability: We do not guarantee that the application will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice.
• Exclusion of Damages: In no event shall GetCoordinates.Online or its creators be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the service; or (iii) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.

6. Changes to the Service and Disclaimer

• Modifications: GetCoordinates.Online reserves the right to update or modify this disclaimer at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the application after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
• User Responsibility to Review: It is your responsibility to regularly review this disclaimer for any updates or changes.
